Personality Disorders Do you ever wish that you had more friends?

I do because most of my best friends have passed away or live too far away from me these days. I live in a pretty rural area too so making new friends seems to be very difficult. I do have some good friends that I made up here many years ago though that I still hang out with every couple of weeks or so which is nice but we always just do the same thing every time and it gets boring after years of it you know? I sometimes wish that I could find a girlfriend to hang out with and do more physical things like camping, shopping, going out to dinner and stuff like that but the women up here leave a lot to be desired! 😋 Most of them all had like 3 kids before they were 13 or are 400 pound complete mental cases all strung out on their anti-crazy meds, or others are addicted to street drugs or pills. So I guess that leaves me with an awful lot of free time on my hands these days if you know what I mean? 😂

I'm a complete shut in. It works though, because so is my g/f. As for more friends, I have some good ones on-line, but my g/f is my best friend and I never get tired of hanging out with her, even 24/7!!

I don't like socializing much but enjoy my online friends :) So I never feel lonely when all I need to do is go to a forum.

Even in rural areas there are nearby small towns that might have events you can go to like cake decorating classes, book clubs at the library, or a first Friday town event. Spark up a conversation with someone at something like that?

I came here (the UK) when I was seventeen and don't have many friends, I made some with work and sport but I had a baby and they all seem to disappear. I do try and stay in contact but they don't have a maternal bone in their body. Have also tried reaching out through forums. Husband works overseas a lot and doesn't add any consistency to any couples type stuff.

I'm sorry. :( Humans are social creatures it seems. But besides my best friend of like 30+ years, almost all of my other "friends" are over the computer....

Sometimes but I've learned that the number of friends doesn't matter, it is who you are friends with that matter more.
Yes definitely. Funny thing is, when I left Facebook, despite telling everyone of my new profile on another site, no one followed. Gee thanks.
