Physical Health Is there a way to heal gums and teeth?

I have had issues with mine for the last few years. I have not been able to get to a dentist. I, unfortunately, cannot afford insurance, and paying out-of-pocket costs would be too expensive. Is there anything I can do to help heal my teeth and gums or at least slow down the damage? I am not sure what to believe online. I want to of things that have helped real people.

Diabetes has been weakening my teeth which were always strong & healthy. I have broken 3 molars and had a bad abscess above another tooth which required root canal. I have 3 crowns and will need a fourth if I opt not to have the broken molar pulled. I can only suggest trying a toothpaste like Sensodyne Repair & Protect toothpaste and be diligent to floss and use a good mouthwash. I use Listerine Total Care Zero (no alcohol). Nothing takes the place of regular dental visits, but good oral hygiene is very important to try and head off big problems.

I have terrible problems with my teeth and gums stemming from teenage neglect and alcohol consumption.

I have found twice daily brushing with something like what @Foxy has recommended is the biggest help in saving my remaining teeth. I don't often use mouthwash, but sometimes I get bleeding gums and then I use something like this to help with that.

Brush your teeth 2x a day, use mouthwash each time (cause who flosses?) and gargle with water (or drink water) after you have fruits. Besides that if you have issues, you definitely have to visit a dentist.

My hygienist told me that if she ever found herself on a deserted island and could only have a toothbrush or floss she would choose floss. Floss gets closer to the gumline to get all that crud out of there so if you aren't flossing you can start by doing that daily. There are also gum stimulators you can buy to help but don't use them to the point where you're bleeding.

the best thing you can use, and this really does work, is to get some coconut oil and scoop some on a spoon put in your mouth it will become a liquid then you swill it round your mouth like you would a mouth wash, try to do this for 10-20 minutes to begin with every morning before you brush and floss your teeth, after you have swilled with the coconut oil spit it out in the bin then rinse your mouth out with warm water before you brush as normal use a sensitive tooth paste, this will cure your mouth issues

Try to find something to get yourself to the dentist. I had to get something Care Credit and it took me a long time to pay it off.

But because I waited, the final solution for me was dentures. I'm glad I got them. I'm not in the agonizing pain that I lived with for more than a decade. Dentures was hard to get used to especially as someone who isn't even 40.

But the longer you wait to get it fixed, the worse it will get. Your bones in your teeth don't grow back. I had the worst gum disease you could get. I had to have a dose of chemotherapy because they thought it was cancerous. Found out it was not, thank the Lord.

And if anyone wants to keep their teeth and gums healthy and avoid what I went through, FLOSS regularly, flossing is more important than brushing in my circumstances.

Don't wait too long, you will regret it!
