I have seen all of these situations come into play on forums and other sites too.The site may be dead - no other users are about; it basically becomes a graveyard site.
The site owner and staff could have other more critical issues to attend to in their lives.
The other staff may have moved on so the owner may be taking a hiatus.
All instant gratification these days,I see these situations loads of times. The problem is that forums are not what they used to be. No one seems to want to talk, other than to push a photo, express an opinion and don't care whether anyone else is likeminded. Or any other mundane crap minutia that lasts about a nanosecond before it drops out of sight.
