• Hi there, and welcome to Trapped Minds!

We are a mental health community that focuses on engagement and discussion. We are a friendly, welcoming and inclusive community open to all who wish to engage in discussion about mental health, whether as someone who suffers, someone who supports a sufferer, or someone who is simply curious. All are welcome here.

Please join us, engage with us, and learn with us. We're here for you.

Note: Trapped Minds is a community of volunteers. Our community is not to be used as a replacement for actual therapy or medical help. We offer experience as sufferers, but cannot be regarded beyond that. If you are struggling, please reach out for help.

Content Moderation & Complaints

At Trapped Minds, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and responsible online community. Our forum is intended for users 18 years and older, primarily due to the allowance of adult language. However, explicit adult content such as sexual material, graphic violence, or exploitative content is strictly prohibited.

Content Moderation Policy

Trapped Minds is committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming community for all users. To achieve this, we enforce our community standards through human moderation by trained staff members.

All posts, threads, and private messages are subject to review by human moderators. We do not use automated detection or filtering systems at this time. Moderators manually assess content against our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Moderators are trained to recognize illegal, harmful, or policy-violating content, and to act quickly to remove it where appropriate. This includes content involving exploitation, violence, hate speech, and other breaches of our Terms of Service.

Content that violates our rules may be removed without notice. Users found repeatedly breaching our policies may be subject to account suspension or permanent bans.

Trapped Minds carries out regular risk assessments to evaluate the threats users may face on the platform. Moderation practices are reviewed and updated accordingly to reflect emerging risks and evolving legal standards, including compliance with the UK Online Safety Act 2023.

Complaints and Appeals

We recognize that moderation decisions may sometimes be disputed. If you believe a moderation action against your post or account was taken in error, you have the right to appeal.

To appeal a moderation decision, please contact our support team by emailing [email protected] within 14 days of the action being taken. In your appeal, please include your username, the date of the decision, and a brief explanation of why you believe the action should be reconsidered.

Appeals are reviewed by a senior staff member who was not involved in the original decision whenever possible. Our goal is to ensure that all appeals are handled fairly, transparently, and promptly.

If your appeal is successful, any content removals, restrictions, or account penalties may be reversed. If your appeal is denied, the original decision will stand.

Please note that abusive, frivolous, or repeated appeals without grounds may result in your ability to appeal being limited.
