If You’re Tired Of Pretending You’re Okay

If you’re tired of pretending you’re okay, you’re not alone.
You can stop holding your breath for a moment.
You don’t have to keep smiling when it hurts.
You don’t have to keep saying “I’m fine” just because it’s easier than explaining what’s really going on.

There’s a kind of exhaustion that sleep doesn’t touch — the kind that comes from carrying yourself through every day while wearing a mask.
The kind where even the quiet feels heavy.
Where you catch yourself staring at nothing, wondering how you’re supposed to keep doing this.

You’re not weak for feeling that way.
You’re tired because you’ve been trying for too long without enough rest, without enough care, without enough understanding from the world around you.
You’re tired because being human takes work.

Let yourself unravel a little.
Let yourself be honest about the ache.
You don’t have to fall apart completely to deserve help.
You don’t have to earn your right to feel.

Some nights you’ll break down over something small — a song, a sentence, an empty room.
But that’s not the end.
It’s release.
It’s the truth slipping out after being buried for too long.

One day, the mask will feel too heavy to pick up again.
You’ll realise you don’t need it anymore.
You’ll start talking differently.
You’ll breathe differently.
You’ll stop surviving for appearance’s sake and start living for yourself, even if it’s clumsy at first.

You don’t have to be okay to keep going.
You just have to be here — messy, honest, human.

That’s enough for today.
